Bike Maine comes to Kennebunk
BikeMaine is a seven-day cycling tour held Sept. 11-19 through the Bicycle Coalition of Maine, a nonprofit organization with more than 5,000 members. Cyclists pedal an average of 55 miles per day along moderately challenging terrain on quiet roadways and through small towns. Kennebunk will be one of the six communities to host the 350 cyclists and 50 volunteers from Bike Maine this year on Sept. 18 and 19. Riders will arrive on the afternoon of Sept. 18 to participate in activities set up through the town, including dinner at the Waterhouse Center, followed by entertainment open to the public. Following the evening’s events, the cyclists will camp at Parsons Field Park and return to the road the following morning.
