Getting Here

By car/bus:

Take the Maine Turnpike to Exit 19 or 25. From Exit 19, Wells, take Route 109 east to Route 1 north to Route 9 east. From Exit 25, the Kennebunks, follow Route 35 south.

Boston, MA – 1 ½ hours
Hartford, CT – 3 hours
Burlington, VT – 3 ½ hours
New York, NY – 5 hours

Montreal, QB – 5 hours
Washington, DC – 8 ½ hours

By airplane:
Portland (Maine) International Jetport is a half hour from the Kennebunks. Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, United and US Airways all serve the Portland Jetport, with flights between Portland and many major cities.

Logan (Boston, MA) International Airport is approximately 90 miles from The Kennebunks. It is served by all major airlines reaching domestic and international destination.

Manchester (NH) Regional Airport is also 90 miles from the Kennebunks. Delta, Southwest, United and US Airways fly between Manchester and major cities.

Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport handles private planes and is 15 miles from the Kennebunks.

By train:
The Downeaster service by Amtrak departs from Boston's South Station and stops in Wells and Saco year round before continuing north to Portland, Freeport and Brunswick. The Wells and Saco stations are under 10 miles from the Kennebunks. During the summer season, train service also stops in Biddeford and Old Orchard Beach.


The Shoreline Explorer consists of a network of trolleys and shuttles, operated by York County Community Action Corp, the regional public transportation provider.  From late June to early September, 7 days/week (June 23 through Sept. 3, 2018) the AQUA Line Shuttle starts at 9:30 a/m/ and operates between Downtown Kennebunk (at the Waterhouse Center) and Lower Village/Kennebunk Beaches with the last shuttle departing from Lower Village at 9:10 p.m.  Additionally, starting at 9 a.m., the BLUE 4b Trolley operates between the Wells Regional Transportation Center (WRTC) and Kennebunk Lower Village.
